Following in the same tradition of CLI, American Continental Insurance Company (ACI) was established in 2005. CLI and ACI becamemembers of the Aetna family of companies in 2011, further enhancing their strength and stability in the senior insurance market. CLI and ACI are bothrated “A” (Excellent) by A.M. Best Company (as of June 22, 2016).* Additional Medicare Supplement products were added to the portfolio with AetnaLife Insurance Company (ALIC) in 2011, Aetna Health and Life Insurance Company (AHLIC) in 2013, and Aetna HealthInsurance Company (AHIC) in 2017. ALIC, AHLIC, and AHIC are all rated “A” (Excellent) by A.M. Best Company (as of June 22, 2016).* In 2014, FirstHealth Life and Health Insurance Company (FHL) and Coventry Health and Life Insurance Company (CHL) Medicare Supplement were added tofamily of companies and products.
