This Chinese stir fry reminds me of Chicken Mu Shu, except I served it over rice instead of with Chinese pancakes. So, if you are looking for a low-carb recipe, it would be just as good on its own without the rice at all. However you serve it, I’m sure you will enjoy this flavorful, easy Asian Chicken Coleslaw recipe!

Chinese Chicken Coleslaw

The Dutch term “koolsla,” which means cabbage, and “SLA” which means lettuce or salad, is where the word “coleslaw” originates. So, the Dutch in New York introduced the word to English in the late 1700s. Since then, it has become a staple side dish at practically all American picnics and barbecues. The chicken is so soft and tasty, and it is very flavorful. Also, Slaw is a type of raw chopped or shredded cabbage salad. Coleslaw, a crucial component of this Asian slaw salad, is referred to as “slaw” informally.

This Asian slaw is a delicious and nutritious way to get your daily dose of vegetables. Please don’t be put off by the rather lengthy ingredient list. So, the recipe’s best feature is that it utilizes all of the prepared veggies that are currently sold in supermarkets, including carrots that have been grated coleslaw that has been shredded, and edamame that has been shelled. Also, this ramen-topped Chinese cabbage salad is well-liked across the country and probably hails from California. The “Chinese” in its name alludes to the seasonings that are added that have a Chinese flavor, including sesame oil. So, any time of year is a good opportunity to enjoy this somewhat sweet and flavorful Chinese coleslaw dressing and salad.

Side Dish

If your favorite season is summer since this recipe goes so well with the sweet, smoky smells of grilled food and BBQ. Consider serving it alongside my smoked salmon, smoked pork loin, or sweet and sticky grilled chicken. With a variety of veggies, crispy toasted cashews, and a flavorful sesame dressing made with coconut aminos, fish sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger, this Asian cabbage slaw has bold, colorful textures and colors. The hardest part of making Asian coleslaw is cutting the vegetables and toasting the cashews because it comes together so quickly and simply. All that’s left to do is blend everything and let the flavors mingle. It’s a tasty and crunchy method to easily include a lot of beneficial vitamins in your diet.

Here are a few of my must-haves for Asian cooking!

This slaw salad is ideal for potlucks, picnics, and events because it works well as a side dish, light lunch, or dinner. Regularly prepare a batch and nibble on it all day. Even on its own, it is quite full.

Storing Tips

An airtight container should be used to store coleslaw in the refrigerator to prevent the salad from drying out or absorbing odors. So, if you store it in this manner, it should keep its quality for 3 to 4 days, or 1 to 2 days after its expiration date if you purchased it from a store.

Look what else you can do with bagged coleslaw mix!
