Express shares how to clean air fryers in five minutes

Most households seem to have an air fryer now as they’re more cost-effective than cookers when it comes to their energy usage. In fact, according to Utilita, air fryers run at an average cost of £55.71 a year, while an electric cooker costs £335.57 a year.

While air fryers are energy efficient, they’re not the easiest to clean.

With this in mind, the cleaning experts at Fabulosa have shared their hack for cleaning air fryers.

The cleaning brand claimed this is the “easiest” hack for cleaning air fryers and just involves baking soda and white vinegar.

They said: “If you want to lift tough grime and stains from your air fryer without the super scrubbing, start by simply adding a tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda to the inside of the drawer and the tray.

“Then spray a generous amount of Fabulosa's White Vinegar Spray and leave the bubbly foam created to soak for 15 minutes.

“Finally, rinse with warm water, swirl and pour away to reveal a squeaky clean air fryer.”

The hack was accompanied by a TikTok video which explained the entire process.

    On one such group, Facebook user Shavannah Ramzan asked: “What is the best way to clean an air fryer?”

    The most popular suggestion was to use washing up liquid in warm water.

    Louise Stay X said: “After every use, I wash the basket in soapy warm water. Wipe around every day with just a soft micro cloth.”

    Shelley Nixon commented: “A cup of cold water and a squirt of washing up liquid.

    “Put it on for 10-15 minutes then rinse or wipe. Also, get silicon basket liners.”
