rava appam recipe | instant suji appam dosa | instant sooji appam with step by step photo and video recipe. appam or dosa recipes does not need any introduction and are hugely popular across india. however, these recipes generally require sufficient amount of planning and preparation to get the desired texture and result. however, the same can be achieved using the instant method and instant rava appam recipe is one such variation.
i am not a huge fan of traditional appam recipes as i personally do not like the smell of yeast. hence, i generally avoid it for my day to day breakfast recipes. there are other alternatives to it, but it is not that effective as yeast. however, there is another way to get the same desired texture and softness with a different set of ingredients. basically in this recipe of instant rava appam recipe i have used the combination of semolina, beaten rice (poha) & sour curd. these ingredients are mixed with eno fruit salt which helps to give us the same desired consistency. in other words, the sour curd when mixed with eno fruit salt, it gives the porous and soft texture.
furthermore, i would like to add some more tips, suggestions and variations to instant rava appam recipe. firstly, you should be using coarse or upma rava (bombay rava) for this recipe. avoid using other variants of rava, especially the bansi rava as it may not yield the desired texture. secondly, the batter consistency has to be slightly thin and watery compared to the traditional dosa batter. it has to slowly flow once you pour it to the dosa pan. lastly, these appam’s are super soft in texture and tastes good with spicy coconut chutney. but you may also serve it with choice of spicy curry or kurma recipe.
finally, i request you to check my other detailed dosa recipes collection with this post of instant rava appam recipe. it mainly includes my other related recipes like rava dosa, rava uttapam, oats dosa, onion rava dosa with aloo masala, rava chilla, uttapam, appam, vellayappam, palappam, instant dosa. further to these i would also like to mention my other recipe categories like,
