Tiny Diamond (2024)

Tiny Blitzgerald^[2] Diamond is a supporting character in Trolls World Tour and Trolls Band Together, as well as Trolls: TrollsTopia, and the main character of theshort Tiny Diamond Goes Back To School. He also appeared in Trolls: Holiday in Harmony, wherein he is the focus of the secondary plot.

He is the son of Guy Diamond, as well as a member of The Snack Pack.

Personality

Tiny acts like a mixture of a baby and adult. He is flashy like his father, but still has the needs of a baby such as parental affection and attention. He is also a prankster with a mischievous streak.

In Trolls: TrollsTopia, Tiny is a prideful Troll and often has a ego to match his father, but like his father, he is fully concerned with his own flaws and weaknesses. Episodes focused on him, such as "It's Dad-urday" or "Shiny Diamond", involve adult Trolls trying to help him. However, in both of the aforementioned episodes, it's notable that Tiny didn't need a "lesson". In "It's Dad-urday", he already knew his daddy wasn't perfect and in "Shiny Diamond", he only maintained the imaginary friend Shiny Diamond because Poppy and others kept reacting to it.

Guy Diamond[]

Guy was in awe of Tiny when he was born and cares deeply for him. However, not much is known about Tiny and Guy's relationship afterwards, other than that they admire each other a lot.

Queen Poppy[]

Poppy has shown a strong adoration towards Tiny ever since his birth, and was the one who came up with his name. Tiny calls her his "Aunt Poppy" and she adores him due to how small he is.

CJ Suki, Priscilla and Keith[]

The trio generally admire Tiny.

Spruce[]

Tiny and Bruce have a good relationship, with Tiny enjoying being babysat by the latter, who has strong fatherly instincts towards him.

He has most normal Troll abilities as well as the abilities of his origin Tribe and those of a Glitter Troll.

Music[]

He does not display Guy Diamond's vocal trait of being able to auto-tune his voice and doesn't sing like other Pop Trolls. Instead, he only raps.

Note: Although Tiny was introduced in trailers as a Hip hop Troll, Poppy doesn't know what that is until she meets Prince Darnell, a Funk Troll prince who is half-Funk and half-Hip hop. Later, Trolls World Tour official bios state that Tiny is a "Rapper Troll", but it's unknown if this is a retcon. The Art of DreamWorks Trolls World Tour refers him to as a "Pop Troll", and explains that he represents the next generation of his origin Tribe. Elsewhere he has been also grouped with the Pop Trolls in other media.

Party Games[]

During "Bubbled In", Tiny was taught how to play Troll Chess by Minuet Sonata and Laguna Tidepool. He excelled at the game despite just learning how to play it and got frustrated with both adults, who are gaming masters, that surprisingly kept losing to a kid like him, and told them to "man up" as it was getting embarrassing on their end.

Vehicle Maneuver[]

In Trolls Band Together, Tiny is revealed to have a learner's permit, albeit under a fake name. Despite being able to drive, he isn't skilled enough to read road signs or directions.

He is a baby so he is dependent on bigger, older Trolls including his father.

In "Extra Tootering", Tiny was struggling to make his first glitter fart, which made him lose a lot of confidence. Guy claims that he was a late tooter like him.

Tiny was the first on screen Troll birth, revealing Trolls being oviparous. Trolls World Tour occurs during his first week of life. Trolls: Holiday in Harmony occurs only a few weeks later and thus occurred still within his first month of life.

Etymology

According to The Art of DreamWorks Trolls World Tour, Tiny was named by Gina Shay. In the scene where Poppy names him, Branch roll his eyes, as he believes that it's like naming a baby "Dave".

"Tiny Diamond" likely refers to how he is basically a miniature version of his father.

In the Trolls: TrollsTopia episode "Extra Tootering", Guy Diamond mentions his middle name as "Blitzgerald". This is a play between "blitz" ("sudden attack or effort") and "Fitzgerald" (a Norman surname meaning "son of Gerald").

• Tiny Diamond is so far the only Glitter Troll in the franchise who isn't a normal Pop Troll.
• His black shades with yellow lenses are likely a reference to the fictional hip hop character Ali G, who's known for wearing glasses like these.
• In 2D animation, the majority of Glitter Trolls are shown in a variety of colors. But natural occurring glitter is always silvery in color like Guy and Tiny Diamond, making them some of the few Glitter Trolls who are identical in color to the natural flowing Glitter of the Trolls' world.
• His learner's driver permit has his name as "Adulty McManFace", as shown in Trolls Band Together.
  • It is likely a reference to the movie Superbad, where the character Fogell used a fake driver permit under the name McLovin.
• According to the Twitter account, Tiny Diamond and Theodore Lindsay Templeton from Boss Baby are business partners.^[5]
• He, along with Prince Darnell, are the only characters who debuted in Trolls World Tour to return in Trolls Band Together.
• Tiny Diamond is by far the first character to swear in the franchise, despite being a baby. This is shown when he swore in shock when one of Spruce and Brandy's children had the Pink Eyes in Trolls Band Together, although his swear was censored.

• Tiny is confirmed to be a month old during the events of the movie, which happened after his birth during Trolls World Tour.
• Tiny and Crimp were originally going to pursue a romantic relationship in the movie as a joke, being in the form of a full storyboard. However, this scene was deleted due to Tiny and Crimp's age gap making their romance questionable.
